Podcast inspirations

I am so excited about the podcast and how it has been evolving. My guests have been sharing very personal parts of their journeys and how these have shaped their lives and missions. To me podcasts are all about real conversations and sharing what is on our hearts. I hope you get to know some new islanders, or feel more connected to the ones you already know through hearing their stories. I loved Chilmark realtor Jim Feiners episode 10, he shares so much about his mission of giving back to the island through his Clients Choice program, and what drives him to want to better the lives of less fortunate islanders.. .and young designer and writer Sharisse Scott- Rowlins in episode 9 speaks candidly about navigating her cancer journey at 21, and how it shaped everything that came after and helped her find purpose and gratitude. And how about Susanna Herlitz-Ferguson from MV Salads?! Her story of starting a new business in her fifties is refreshing and inspiring. She also shares a very personal journey of parenting her adult son with addiction challenges, and how he made it through those times and is an advocate for other young people on a similar path now.
I haven't shared my own story with too many people, but when I was just visiting my father in my childhood home in Germany, I took a chance and recorded a mini solo episode about my tumultuous teenage hood and time in Foster Care between age 16 and 18 (episode 12). I haven't talked about this time in my life very much, but I have been inspired by my guests being so open and honest. I think at the end of the day it helps to be real and vulnerable sometimes. By telling the whole truth we learn from each other and inspire one another. If this podcast inspires you in any way, then I am very happy. Take a listen !
